News monitoring
Use TIME endpoints to turn news monitoring into repeatable API requests with documented inputs and JSON responses.
Turn TIME's public RSS section directory, headline feed, and dated article pages into normalized JSON for news and culture monitoring.
Get TIME's public section list, site-wide and per-section headlines, and full public article content as structured JSON.

Managed execution
Every figure below is read from the live TIME endpoint catalog — 5 endpoints, 8 documented request parameters, and 5 published response schemas — the same catalog Docs and Playground run against.
5 documented TIME endpoints, grouped into 5 request families — Article, Author and Headlines, plus 2 more.
8 request parameters are documented across those TIME endpoints, 8 of them required — the full input contract is public before you write any integration code.
5 of the 5 TIME endpoints ship a recorded example response, and 5 carry a documented response schema — you can code against the real JSON before the first request.
TIME endpoints document their error responses (400, 404, 429 and 503) alongside the success schema, so a block, a rate limit, or a missing record comes back as a typed error rather than silently empty data.
5 hosted MCP tools back the TIME endpoints, so an agent can call the same routes with the same parameters and the same JSON contract, with no custom glue.

Endpoint catalog
/time/articleReturns one TIME article by `url`, which must be a canonical HTTPS dated `time.com` article link. The response has the title, description, section, authors, publication and update times, lead image URL, body `paragraphs` and a `paywalled` flag.
MCP tool time_article
/time/authorReturns a TIME author's profile by `url`, a canonical `time.com/author/<slug>/` link: name, job title, bio, image URL, social account links and recent articles with title, URL, excerpt, section, section URL and ISO-8601 `published_at`. Not every author lists a social account.
MCP tool time_author
/time/headlinesReturns the current headlines for one TIME section. `section` is required and takes one of `news`, `politics`, `world`, `business`, `technology`, `health`, `entertainment`, `sports`, `ideas` or `climate`. Each item has its title and URL.
MCP tool time_headlines
/time/newsReturns the current top stories from TIME. It takes no parameters. Each item has its title, URL and, where available, a summary, author, publication time, image URL and `type`. Use the headlines endpoint to read one section.
MCP tool time_news
/time/sectionsLists the 10 TIME section slugs that the headlines endpoint accepts: `news`, `politics`, `world`, `business`, `technology`, `health`, `entertainment`, `sports`, `ideas` and `climate`. Each entry has a `slug`, a display `name` and a `url`.

How to scrape TIME
TIME has been owned since 2018 by Marc and Lynne Benioff, who bought the magazine from Meredith for $190 million and run it separately from Salesforce. Its site splits into ten sections, from politics and world to ideas and climate, and each section's headlines come from that section's own public hub page, so a climate request returns climate coverage rather than the site-wide mix. Crawlora's TIME endpoints add the site-wide feed, full articles, and author pages as normalized JSON.
Call /time/sections for the ten slugs /time/headlines accepts: news, politics, world, business, technology, health, entertainment, sports, ideas, and climate.
Call /time/news for TIME's public feed across every section. A 2026-09-24 pull returned 25 items spanning two days, each carrying its byline in the item itself rather than only on the article page.
Pass a slug to /time/headlines for that section's hub page. The technology slug maps to TIME's /section/tech/ hub, and news mirrors the site-wide feed because TIME has no separate news hub.
Pass a dated time.com article URL to /time/article for title, byline, timestamps, and body paragraphs. Opinion pieces work too: TIME marks them with the OpinionNewsArticle schema type, which the parser accepts alongside standard news articles.
Pass a time.com/author/ URL to /time/author for a name, bio, and recent articles. Outside contributors can be sparse: a 2026-09-24 call for a Chatham House fellow returned a one-line bio and no article list.

Because TIME's section feeds currently return the same items as its site-wide feed. /time/headlines reads each section's public hub page instead, which is what gives climate, politics, and technology distinct results.
Yes. TIME tags columns and essays as OpinionNewsArticle in its structured data. The endpoint accepts that type along with NewsArticle, so a column in the Ideas section parses the same way as a news story.
A dated time.com path, with or without the /article/ prefix, for example time.com/article/2026/09/24/america-china-trump-xi-jinping-global-order/. Section, tag, and author pages are rejected.
Staff pages list recent bylines; contributor pages can be minimal. A 2026-09-24 call for an outside contributor returned only a name and a one-sentence bio, with an empty articles list.
No. TIME's section hubs, feed, and article pages are public on time.com, and the Benioffs have kept the site free to read without a hard paywall.
