BBB API endpoint
Returns one BBB Scam Tracker consumer scam report: description, dollars lost, targeted person's location, scammer location/email/phone/URL (when known), scam type, business name used, and date reported. If BBB no longer shows the report and serves its search page at that address, the endpoint returns a permanent 404; do not retry it.
/bbb/scamtracker/{id}Path parameter:
id (required) — a numeric BBB Scam Tracker report id (1–20 digits), from a bbb-scamtracker-search result's id or url.When BBB itself omits the narrative, a recognized report can return its metadata without description. Unrecognized missing narrative markup remains an upstream parser error; an empty narrative is not evidence of archive coverage.
Response includes the report description (when BBB splits the narrative into several paragraphs they are joined with a blank line), dollars lost, targeted person's location, scammer location/email/phone/URL (each "Unknown ..." when the reporter didn't provide it — not a parser gap), scam type, business name used, and date reported.
If BBB no longer shows the report and serves its Scam Tracker search page at the detail address, the endpoint returns 404. This is a permanent answer; do not retry the report id. A blocked, challenged, or unrecognized page remains an upstream error.
