Datasets API endpoint
Searches the crawled public PitchBook limited partner (institutional investor — e.g. pension fund, endowment, insurance company) profile catalog stored in a search index. Discovered from PitchBook's public sitemap. Some limited partner profiles have no FAQ section -- this is normal, not a sign of missing data. Sort enum: `relevance`, `name_asc`, `year_founded_desc`, `recently_crawled_desc`. Billing: this search costs 1 credit per record returned, with a minimum of 2 (an empty result costs 2, a full page of 100 costs 100).

Discovered from PitchBook's public sitemap. PitchBook gates most numeric figures and full lists behind a paid subscription; those come through as empty cells rather than being fabricated. Some limited partner profiles have no FAQ section at all — PitchBook only generates one for profiles with enough content; this is normal, not a sign of missing or blocked data.
Query parameters:
q — full-text query over name and description (max 256 chars).institution_type, hq_country, hq_state, run_id — exact-match filters (max 128 chars).min_year_founded, max_year_founded — numeric filters.sort — one of relevance, name_asc, year_founded_desc, recently_crawled_desc. Defaults to relevance with q, otherwise recently_crawled_desc.page (default 1), page_size (default 20, max 100). page * page_size must be ≤ 10000.Each row carries a stable envelope (id, kind, name, description, source_url, crawled_at) plus limited-partner-specific rollups (institution_type, year_founded, contact_title, commitments_count, hq_country/hq_state/hq_city, website) extracted best-effort from the underlying profile — absent, never fabricated, when the source page doesn't have them. The raw overview, contact, tables and faqs blocks are also included. Returns {dataset, items[], page, page_size, total, sort}. An empty or not-yet-populated dataset returns an empty items list, not an error.
1 credit per record returned, minimum 2. A search that returns 20 records costs 20 credits, a full page of 100 costs 100, and an empty or one-record result costs 2. You are charged for what comes back, not for the page_size you ask for, but your balance must cover the requested page_size for the call to be accepted. The response header x-credit-cost shows what a call was charged.
