Healthgrades API endpoint

Healthgrades Award Recipients API

Returns one page (20 hospitals) of a Healthgrades hospital quality award list: America's Best Hospitals (top 50, 100, or 250), Specialty Excellence (by specialty, top 50 or 100), Patient Safety Excellence, Outstanding Patient Experience, Ob-Gyn Care, or Specialty State Rankings. Filter by year, state, city, specialty, and Ob-Gyn award type; sort by name or, with latitude and longitude, by distance. Each hospital includes its profile URL (for /healthgrades/hospital), address, coordinates, phone, and every award it holds with years. Read accepted filter values from /healthgrades/hospital-awards/filters. Requests use US egress because Healthgrades restricts content by region.

How this endpoint behaves

Query parameters:

award (required): one of americas-best-hospitals, specialty-excellence-americas-best-care, patient-safety-excellence-award, outstanding-patient-experience-award, ob-gyn-care-excellence-awards, state-rankings.
year (optional): award year from /api/v1/healthgrades/hospital-awards/filters (defaults to the latest; a year without recipients returns an empty list).
state (optional): state slug from the filters (for example texas). A state with no list for the award returns 404.
city (optional, requires state): city slug from the filters for that state (for example los-angeles).
list (optional, award=americas-best-hospitals only): top50, top100, or top250 (default).
list_category (optional, award=specialty-excellence-americas-best-care only): top50 or top100.
specialty (optional, award=specialty-excellence-americas-best-care or state-rankings): one of BAR (Bariatric Surgery), CVO (Cardiac Care), CWS (Cardiac Surgery), PCI (Coronary Intervention), NSG (Cranial Neurosurgery), CCU (Critical Care), GIO (Gastrointestinal Care), GSO (Gastrointestinal Surgery), ORJ (Joint Replacement), NSC (Neurosciences), ORT (Orthopedic Surgery), OJO (Outpatient Joint Replacement), OOR (Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery), OBP (Outpatient Prostate Care), PRS (Prostate Surgery), PUL (Pulmonary Care), ORS (Spine Surgery), NEU (Stroke Care), OVSC (Surgical Care), VAS (Vascular Surgery).
ob_gyn_type (optional, award=ob-gyn-care-excellence-awards only): GYS (Gynecologic Surgery), LAB (Labor and Delivery), or OBG (Obstetrics and Gynecology).
sort (optional): name (default) or distance (default when coordinates are given).
latitude, longitude (optional, together): location for distance sorting; hospitals then include distance_miles.
page (optional, default 1): 20 hospitals per page.

Filters that do not apply to the chosen award, and invalid values, return 400. Returns the list title, applied year, region, city, and sort, page, page_size, total, total_pages, and hospitals (each with id, name, profile url usable with /api/v1/healthgrades/hospital, description, phone, address, latitude/longitude, and awards with code, name, years, and matched for the award the list is filtered on). Requests use US egress because Healthgrades restricts content by region.
