The Daily Caller API endpoint
Returns public The Daily Caller article metadata and body paragraphs from a canonical article URL. Patriots-only (premium) articles expose only a public teaser and are flagged paywalled.
/dailycaller/articleQuery parameter: url is required: a canonical HTTPS dailycaller.com article URL in the form /YYYY/MM/DD/<slug> (a trailing slash is optional). Section, author, and series pages are rejected with a 400.
Returns public metadata (title, description, published_at, updated_at, section, authors, image_url) and the body as plain-text paragraphs. Embedded posts, ad slots, and "read more" widgets are left out.
Paywall behavior: most articles are free and return their full text. Patriots-only (premium) articles show anonymous readers just a short teaser, so for those the response has paywalled set to true and paragraphs holds only that public teaser, not the full article. paywalled is omitted when the full public text was returned. Sign-in and subscriber-only content is never accessed.
Very old archive URLs (roughly 2022 and earlier) can sit behind a bot challenge and return a 503 upstream error; recent articles are unaffected. An unknown URL returns 404.
