The Sydney Morning Herald article API
Returns one Sydney Morning Herald article's public metadata and the body paragraphs an anonymous visitor's page request is served, from a canonical article URL. The Sydney Morning Herald runs a metered subscription paywall; the response reports it with is_accessible_for_free (the page's own declaration), paywalled (the page marks the story as subscriber content), and is_truncated (the page served a shortened preview, or no body at all, instead of the full story). Paywalls are never bypassed and body text is never fabricated. Video-only pages are rejected with a 400.

How this endpoint behaves
Query parameter: url (required) is a canonical HTTPS www.smh.com.au article URL in the /<section>/<slug>-<yyyymmdd>-<id>.html form. Any tracking query string is removed before the page is requested. Video-only pages share this URL shape and are rejected with a 400.
Returns the article's public metadata (title, description, publication and update times in UTC, section slug, authors, keywords, lead image) and the body paragraphs an anonymous visitor's page request is served.
is_accessible_for_free: the page's own declaration (trueorfalse), ornullwhen the page does not declare it. The Sydney Morning Herald currently declaresfalseon its articles.paywalled:truewhen the page marks the story, or its body, as subscriber content.is_truncated:truewhen the page served a shortened paywall preview, or no body text at all, instead of the full story.paragraphsthen holds only the preview that was served, which may be empty.
