7NEWS Australia API endpoint
Returns public 7NEWS article metadata and body paragraphs from a canonical 7news.com.au article URL. 7NEWS articles are free to read; a non-free content tier, if one ever appears, is flagged as paywalled.
/sevennewsau/articleQuery parameter: url is a canonical HTTPS 7news.com.au article URL whose last path segment ends in the content id -c-<number>, for example https://7news.com.au/news/world/<slug>-c-22923759 or https://7news.com.au/news/<slug>-c-22915885. Returns public metadata (title, description, publication and update times, section, authors, lead image) and the article body. News stories, sport, entertainment, motoring reviews, recipes and shopping features all use the same format.
paragraphs holds the body text in reading order. Headings, image captions, embedded posts, ad slots, the inline "Know the news with the 7NEWS app" promotion and motoring "Explore the ... showroom" cross-links are not included. authors is empty for unattributed agency copy.
7NEWS articles are free to read: every page sampled (43 across all sections, 2026-09-25) declared a free content tier, so no paywalled example exists. If a page ever declares a non-free tier the response sets paywalled to true rather than presenting a partial body as complete. Legacy /stories/ web stories, video pages, section pages, author profiles and any page without a readable article body are not supported and return an error. A query string or fragment on the URL is dropped before the page is requested.
