Sporting News API endpoint

Sporting News author profile API

Returns a Sporting News US author's profile, looked up by `slug` (for example `anne-erickson`) or canonical `url`; exactly one is required. The response has the name, `bio`, photo, social links and about 20 recent articles, each with title, URL, section, author, publication time and image. There is no pagination, and an unknown author returns not-found.

How this endpoint behaves

Query parameters:

slug (optional): an author slug, e.g. anne-erickson, the last segment of the author link in a story's byline.
url (optional): a canonical https://www.sportingnews.com/us/author/<slug> URL, as an alternative to slug.

Exactly one of slug/url is required. The response covers the first page of the author's page (their most recent articles, about 20; there is no pagination); each article has title, url, section, author, published_at and image_url. bio, image_url and social_links are omitted when the author has none. An unknown author returns a not-found error.
