The National API endpoint
Returns article metadata and the body served to an anonymous visitor for one canonical The National story URL. The endpoint does not bypass subscriber or access gates and reports paywalled when the page marks content as restricted.
/national/articleQuery parameter: url is required and must be a canonical HTTPS story URL on thenationalnews.com with a dated editorial path. URL query strings are ignored when normalizing the article URL.
Returns the article title, author, publication and update times, section, summary, canonical URL, and readable body paragraphs from the response available to an anonymous visitor. The endpoint does not bypass subscriber gates; paywalled reports publisher access markers where present.
