Patents Detail API

Fetches a single USPTO Patent Public Search record's full text -- bibliographic data, abstract, description, and claims -- by GUID and source database. guid and source normally come straight from a prior /usptoppubs/search result's guid and database fields. Public data, sourced from USPTO's own official search tool.

How this endpoint behaves

Query parameters:

guid (required) — the document's GUID, e.g. US-20260238009-A1. Normally taken directly from a prior /usptoppubs/search result's guid field.
source (required) — the database the document lives in. Allowed values: US-PGPUB, USPAT, USOCR. Normally taken directly from that same search result's database field -- a valid guid with the wrong source returns a 404, not a cross-database lookup.

Response fields: guid, publication_number, title, database, applicant_names[], assignee_name, inventors_short, application_number, filing_date, publication_date, ipc_codes, cpc_codes, kind_codes[], page_count, language, abstract, description[] (one entry per numbered paragraph), claims[] (one entry per claim), source_url, fetched_at.

An unknown or mismatched guid/source pair returns a 404.
