Wall Street Journal API endpoint
Returns one Wall Street Journal author's profile (name, job title, bio, and social links when available) and the recent articles listed on their author page, read directly from the live page. The author page sits behind the same access wall as article pages, so a nonexistent author slug returns 404.
/wsj/authorQuery parameters:
slug (optional): a WSJ author slug, e.g. matt-grossman.url (optional): a canonical https://www.wsj.com/news/author/<slug> URL, as an alternative to slug.Exactly one of slug/url is required.
Returns one Wall Street Journal author's profile — name, job_title, bio, email, and social_accounts when the page shows them — plus the recent articles listed on that author's page (each with a title, url, and published_at when WSJ's own page data includes it).
Behavior:
404. A page that clears the anti-bot wall but carries no usable profile/article content returns 503 rather than a hollow success.wsj.com hosts and malformed author URLs return 400 before any upstream request.job_title, bio, email, and social_accounts reflect whatever the live page actually shows; any of them can be absent for a given author.| Field | Filled in, of 50 checked | Values in the sample |
