Managed execution
Every figure below is read from the live CBR endpoint catalog — 5 endpoints, 8 documented request parameters, and 5 published response schemas — the same catalog Docs and Playground run against.
5 documented CBR endpoints, grouped into 5 request families — Article, Author and Headlines, plus 2 more.
8 request parameters are documented across those CBR endpoints, 8 of them required — the full input contract is public before you write any integration code.
5 of the 5 CBR endpoints ship a recorded example response, and 5 carry a documented response schema — you can code against the real JSON before the first request.
CBR endpoints document their error responses (400, 404, 429 and 503) alongside the success schema, so a block, a rate limit, or a missing record comes back as a typed error rather than silently empty data.
5 hosted MCP tools back the CBR endpoints, so an agent can call the same routes with the same parameters and the same JSON contract, with no custom glue.

Endpoint catalog
/cbr/headlinesReturns fresh headlines from one public CBR RSS section. Video pages, if a section ever returns them, have type video and are not readable through the article endpoint.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 10 items, 6 fields filled in every item. published_at: 2026-10-12 to 2026-10-13; url: cbr.com.
MCP tool cbr_headlines
/cbr/newsReturns about 10 of the latest CBR stories from the site's main feed, with no input needed. Each has a title, canonical URL, summary, publication time, author names (co-authors joined with a comma) and lead image.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 10 items, 6 fields filled in every item. published_at: 2026-10-13; url: cbr.com.
MCP tool cbr_news
/cbr/sectionsLists the 28 CBR section slugs accepted by `cbr-headlines`, grouped by movies, TV, comics, anime and games with news, reviews, features and lists variants, plus `lists` and `cbr-exclusives`. Each entry has a `slug` (for example `news-movies` or `comics/reviews`), a display `name` and the feed `url`.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 28 items, 3 fields filled in every item. name: “Movies” and 27 other values; url: cbr.com.
MCP tool cbr_sections
/cbr/articleReturns a CBR article by `url`, a canonical `cbr.com` address of the form `/<slug>/`: title, description, publication and update times, section, authors, image and the body `paragraphs`. Section, video, author and category pages are rejected as invalid. `paywalled` is `true` only if the page declares the article not free, and then `paragraphs` may be a teaser.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 9 of 9 fields returned with a value. published_at: 2026-09-24; section: “Comics”.
MCP tool cbr_article
/cbr/authorReturns a CBR author profile from `url`, a canonical `https://www.cbr.com/author/<slug>/` address; paginated `/page/N/` URLs are rejected. The response has name, `title`, biography, image, `social_links` and about 20 items from the profile's Latest module, with no older pages available.
Sampled 14 Oct 2026: 20 items, 4 fields filled in every item. url: cbr.com; title: median 78 characters.

How to scrape CBR
CBR's granular categories let you keep a review, a feature, a list, and a breaking franchise item distinct in an entertainment dataset. Movies, television, and comics each have news, features, reviews, and lists in CBR's taxonomy. Use those format labels when assessing release announcements: a ranked list or retrospective can refer to a franchise without reporting a new event. The 2026-09-26 movie feed included Hulu's October slate and an X-Men reboot analysis, illustrating the difference. Keep the format, franchise, date, and article URL with each record so a reader can inspect whether a title is primary reporting or commentary. A pull on 2026-10-27 listed 28 sections, each feed returning 10 stories with full fields. A second pull on 2026-10-27 re-checked the 28-slug section list and the cross-section feed.
The sections route lists 28 slugs grouped by movies, TV, comics, anime and games, each with news, reviews, features and lists variants, plus lists and cbr-exclusives.
Video pages, if a section returns them, have type video and are not readable through the article endpoint.
Article calls take a canonical cbr.com address of the form /<slug>/. Section, video, author and category pages are rejected.
The author route takes a /author/<slug>/ URL, rejects paginated /page/N/ URLs and returns name, title, biography, image, social links and about 20 items from the profile's Latest module. Article authors[] are names only, so the slug must come from the site.
movies covered about four and a half hours (2026-10-26 23:30 UTC to 2026-10-27 03:56) while comics-lists ran from 2026-10-24 to 2026-10-26. Other slugs include movie-features, news-movies, reviews-movies, movie-lists and tv.
news-movies, movies and movie-features overlap, so deduplicate by URL.
CBR lists 28 slugs across movies (movie-features, news-movies, reviews-movies), tv and comics, some written as comics/news. On 2026-10-30 movies returned 10 headlines from 2026-10-29 19:46 to 2026-10-30 03:57 UTC and movie-features 10 from 2026-10-28 21:00, with 1 and 0 also in the 10-story strip.
The cross-section news route returned 10 stories spanning only 2026-10-30 02:45 to 03:57 UTC, with bylines, summaries and images on every story, so poll it every few minutes and expect little overlap with slower slugs.
Agent skills
