Google Patents API endpoint
Searches Google Patents' full index by free-text query, with optional inventor, assignee, patent office, status, type, language, and date filters. Returns a page of hits plus top-assignee/top-inventor/top-classification breakdowns over the full result set.
/googlepatents/searchQuery parameters:
q (required) — free-text search query.inventor (optional) — filter by inventor name.assignee (optional) — filter by assignee/applicant name.country (optional) — filter by patent office/authority code, e.g. US, EP, WO, CN, JP.status (optional) — legal status filter. Allowed values: GRANT, APPLICATION.type (optional) — document type filter. Allowed values: PATENT, DESIGN.language (optional) — document language filter. Allowed values: ENGLISH, GERMAN, CHINESE, FRENCH, SPANISH, ARABIC, JAPANESE, KOREAN, PORTUGUESE, RUSSIAN, ITALIAN, DUTCH, SWEDISH, FINNISH, NORWEGIAN, DANISH.date_field (optional) — which date before/after apply to. Allowed values: priority, filing, publication. Defaults to priority when before or after is set.before (optional) — only results dated on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).after (optional) — only results dated on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).sort (optional) — result order. Allowed values: relevance, new, old. Defaults to relevance.num (optional, default 10, max 100) — results per page.page (optional, default 0) — 0-indexed page number.Response fields: query, total_results, total_pages, page, many_results, results[] (publication_number, title, snippet, priority_date, filing_date, grant_date, publication_date, inventor, assignee, language, is_similar_document, thumbnail_url, pdf_url, detail_url, country_status[]), top_assignees[], top_inventors[], top_classifications[] (each key, value), source_url, fetched_at.
A query with no matches returns a 200 response with total_results: 0 and an empty results array, not an error.
