Toronto Star article API
Returns public Toronto Star article metadata and the body paragraphs shown to an anonymous reader from a canonical article URL. The Star meters its articles, so paywalled is true and paragraphs holds only the public teaser (typically the first two paragraphs) whenever the page hides the rest from non-subscribers.

How this endpoint behaves
Query parameter: url is a canonical HTTPS Toronto Star article URL on thestar.com whose path ends in /article_<uuid>.html, e.g. https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/court-set-to-hear-from-victims-families-in-case-of-international-poison-seller-kenneth-law/article_e760a06a-60da-49b6-ae00-fe14e1b5eb5b.html. Section pages, author pages, and other hosts return an invalid-params error.
The endpoint returns public metadata (title, description, published_at, updated_at, section, authors, image_url) and the body paragraphs an anonymous reader is shown. The Toronto Star meters its articles: in every sample checked on 2026-09-25 (10 of 10, staff and wire stories alike) an anonymous visit shows only the first two paragraphs and the rest is hidden until a subscriber signs in, so paywalled is true and paragraphs is that public teaser only. The hidden text is deliberately not returned. An article page with no hidden members-only blocks returns its whole body with paywalled omitted. Captions, inline related-content boxes and ad regions are never included in paragraphs. section is the page's own section path such as news/gta.
