How this endpoint behaves
Query parameter: url is a canonical HTTPS Philstar story URL on philstar.com or www.philstar.com, e.g. https://www.philstar.com/business/2026/09/25/2558683/naysayers-wont-take-away-gcashs-very-exciting-story (a section path, then the publication date, the numeric story id and the slug). Section pages, author pages, event pages, other hosts (including interaksyon.philstar.com) and non-HTTPS URLs return an invalid-params error; a well-formed URL whose story id does not exist returns not-found. Query strings, fragments and the bottom-article-list path segment that microsite listings add are stripped.
The endpoint returns public metadata (title, description, published_at, updated_at, section, authors, image_url) and the body paragraphs (paragraphs, sub-headings and list items; embedded social posts, "RELATED:" link lines, related-story cards, photo captions and ad slots are not included). section is the story's section label, for example Business or Cebu News. authors holds the byline: a reporter's name, or the credited outlet for unsigned and wire copy (The Philippine Star, Philstar.com, Agence France-Presse). Philstar prints "12:00am" when the desk recorded no time, so a published_at of T16:00:00Z (midnight in Manila) usually means the date is right but the time is unknown. Stories can be in English, Filipino or Cebuano.
Paywall behavior: none. Philstar serves every story in full to anonymous readers (its own support page says its news is provided "to readers for free"), and no gated or truncated story was found across a live sample of about 25 articles across the English, Filipino and Cebuano editions, so paywalled is never set.
